Workshop Programme Objectives

TITLE: 1 Day Maximising Business Presentations

Who will Benefit?
Anyone who already gives presentations or will soon be asked to give them - from graduates right through to senior managers. Our training shows the delegates the difference between ‘simply standing up and talking’ and ‘communicating convincingly a message that’s worth hearing and will be repeated’.

OBJECTIVES:

  • An understanding of what makes a good presentation and how this impacts on their ability to close business.
  • The skills to put together a focused message that meets the needs of their audience and which reflects the quality of their thinking and analysis.
  • The confidence to bring their message alive by delivering a presentation story, therefore making it more memorable.
  • The framework for creating slides which support the presenter, not smother them.
TITLE: 1 Day Conference Speaking

Who will Benefit?
Directors and senior managers who are being asked to give presentations to Company / Industry / Press / Conferences. Our training asks the delegates: "Don’t think what you have to do for the conference but rather what the conference can do for you?"

OBJECTIVES:

  • An understanding of the opportunity a conference provides for the company and the individual.
  • Learnings from the experts – what they believe makes a successful speaker.
  • An understanding of how to write a powerful presentation.
  • The skills to maximise platform performance.
  • Key tips for being best prepared.

TITLE: 1 Day Selling Creative Work / Your Ideas

Who will Benefit?
Anyone who has to sell ideas – whether the original creator or account management. Personal experience and confidence plays such a huge part in an individual’s ability to bring an idea alive and to act out it’s story, that experience and job titles are not always good indicators of whether the course is appropriate or not. Our training show the delegates how to help others ‘see and believe in’ their ideas.

OBJECTIVES:

  • A better understanding of the ‘client’s viewpoint’ in order to put across the most ‘persuasive case for buying’.
  • The skills to sell the logic behind the idea.
  • The confidence to bring an ‘idea alive’ – putting the client into the right ‘mind frame’ for creativity and the right ‘visual frame’ to understand.
  • A step-by-step plans of action they can follow when selling their ideas.
TITLE: 1 Day Writing Presentations

Who will Benefit?
Anyone who is inexperienced or would like to take a fresh look at the way they write their presentations so that they can confidently create a presentation message that impacts on their audience. Sadly most presentations are designed to be both the leave behind document and the presentation. As a result it is neither a worthwhile document as it lacks the ‘explanation’ nor a persuasive presentation as it lacks any 'focus'.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understanding the role of a document.
  • Writing a management summary.
  • A step-by-step guide to writing a presentation.
  • Understanding how to create the right core message to meet the needs of their audience.
  • The skills to put together a presentation story that is both interesting and memorable.
  • The framework for creating slides which support the presenter, not smother them.
TITLE: 1 Day Assertiveness Training

Who will Benefit?
Anyone who is already a key team member and is ready for the next management step to team leader. Our training shows the delegates how they can build greater personal credibility in order to become more assertive. We ask the question of them: Would they feel confident doing business with themselves?

OBJECTIVES:

  • A deeper understanding of how to build greater personal credibility with colleagues and clients alike.
  • An understanding of how to deliver a message that the audience will want to hear, will find of benefit and want to tell others.
  • The chance to understand how to maximise their performance and contribution in meetings.
  • An awareness and acceptance of what they need to do in order to grow.
Helping Business Win Business

We have been asked by clients to help fine-tune or help create a winning presentation. Our service is a la carte - covering all or part of the presentation. You can choose whatever part of the service you need.

Speakers’ Corner helps you put together powerful presentations. We get involved once you’ve worked out the business proposition and decided you need to make a presentation.

We work like “Presentation Doctors” and go in at whatever stage a presentation needs - strategic, creative or simply constructive input.

We help the client team focus on the key issues and develop their strongest business propositions. This is turned into tailored sales or conference presentations. And by the nature of the business, often at the eleventh hour when the success of the presentation is critical.

Here’s what a recent client said:

“We’re grateful for your support, insight and creativity. We ‘wowed’ the client and won the business.”  Ann Willis, Director Spafax Inflight Entertainment

We are not offering a conference organising facility. Our skilled team provides the thinking and know how to produce a first class presentation:

one that meets the needs of your audience,
one that has a clear, actionable message and
one that is both enjoyable and memorable

We put the kind of thinking and creativity into your presentations that you put into developing your business

One-to-one Coaching and Consultancy

One-to-one Coaching

There are number of occasions where the training need is required for one person. For example, when a senior manager is asked to address a large industry or company conference and wants to get pointers and feedback on how best to deliver their message in a confident and memorable way.

Rehearsing and fine-tuning a new business presentation is another area we specialise in.

There are also individuals who need special attention because of speaking fears or being unable to rise to the presentation opportunity. In a number of cases this can hold back a person’s career so one-to-one coaching is an effective solution to helping them overcome this barrier and grow.

We work with the individual on assertiveness training and building greater personal credibility.

Training either takes place in our London office or on a client’s premises. Each session lasts two hours with video recordings and playback. After the session, an email feedback plus recommendations is sent to the delegate and training manager if requested. We normally recommend 2 sessions over a period of a couple of weeks.

Consultancy

We work with clients as requested.

For example:

1. Working with a group of line managers helping them to agree their ‘best practice’ for servicing their clients.

2. Working with a group of senior managers and directors to help them agree how they can better maximise their expertise throughout the company in order to maximise their bottom line.

3. Helping a group of directors to look again at the way they go about presenting themselves to new business clients / their new business presentations.

4. Working with a new business team on their pitch presentation.

5. Working with a group of directors to agree how they can better present their company. Eg in business forums; at conferences; to undergraduates at grad Fairs / on the milk round.

Our clients tell us that if a ‘day is fixed’ and ‘it’s costing money’ managers tend to put a greater commitment to the day and its outcomes.
